Reply to "Does anybody use additional software?....."

I use a web-design tool (Dreamweaver) to design the page, putting the info into seperate boxes (description, photos, small print etc) with the description at the immediate top. I then copy the whole page (from <body> to </body> for those that know HTML) into the advert. Looks good and it works.

I also add in extra stuff (eg. history of a china pattern, easily found on WWW), anything to get more info. to the buyer. I also add in keywords with common misspellings (eg. wedgewood for wedgwood, guage or gauge etc) so that the item gets found more easily. The result - I often buy cheaply from someone who types their advert in as a big chunk of text and sell high (as much as 5 times higher for the same item).

KISS (keep it simple, stupid!) applies, no big pictures (link to them from thumbnails) and no animated graphics (!) but the more info your provide, the higher the price!
