Crazy bidders!

I'm fairly new at this selling part of eBay. So far, I've been mainly peddling stuff out of my closets that I don't use.

I got an auction going now for an item I bought 20+ years ago and never used or took out of the package. I took a picture of it and described it including how the price tag on it that I paid reads $17.95. The auction ends in 3 days and the bid is already up to $16.66 ?!?

The odd thing is I sold essentially the identical item, age & all, last week and it went for the opening bid of $4.

I'm happy about the potential of the nice sell price, but I'm concerned that my high bidder may have buyer's remorse! Or leave unflattering feedback!

Have you guys had the experience of bidders getting carried away on your auctions and then becoming non-paying bidders?

Another curiosity -- I've sold, well I should say LISTED, about a dozen things and have not seen a sniper yet!
