Been high bidder, others silent...

So, I've been the high bidder on an item since the first bid. There have been others, but I keep on beating them. There have been 11 bids, with only 4 bidders. They've gone silent. Does this mean that they give up or are they going to snipe it? Should I set up a larger snipe to guarantee my winning?
