It just happened to me, which is why I'm on the message boards to see if this is a frequent thing. I set up a snipe about 12 hours before the auction's end. When I checked it the next morning, it had put in the bid at almost 8 minutes early even though I had set it up for a 15 second lead time. Luckily I still won, but man, that makes me nervous! Still, it's a service I need and I'll still use it on a regular basis.
