as said buy it now won

I placed my bid on A.S. for a lot more than the current high bidder had. I was quite sure I would win and at the end of the auction my message from A.S. was " ended with buy it now"your snipe could not be placed This opion was not even available for this auction. I contacted the seller to ask if the winning bid had won with "buy it now". They had not and my A.S. was much higher. What's up with that??? I really wanted to win this auction
