Has anyone here ever had problems contacting PayPal's customer service? I have sent several e-mail messages and never received a response.
I am trying to add another card, but the "activate account" box where the add-a-credit-card option is supposed to be does not contain it. I am a verified PayPal member.
Any suggestions as to how I should proceed? I have no idea how to contact them.

I've never had occasion to e-mail PayPal but it seems to me that the best results might be obtained by going to their Internet web site and using the "Write to us" feature there. Try them at http://www.paypal.com/

Um, I tried that, as stated in my original post. The problem is that they are not responding. Thanks anyway.

Um, I beg to differ. Your previous post did not specify where you were sending e-mail from. I'll try not to bother you again.

I too have been unable to get a reply from them. I have been trying to get my account verified and they require my "Checking account" which I share with my wife. (Joint account) since my wife is also a paypal user and is verified on this account they wont let me verify. Seems silly, most married couples have joint accounts. Is there any way around this without opening a special account just for them?

Hi chatter & polishedtones.... Have you signed in to PayPal on your account then clicked on "Help" to PayPal Help Center....there is specific ???/ans. re: adding credit cards/ch accts and further....you can click on "contact us". Is this where you are not getting a response??? I've only had occasion to contact PayPal once..and that was about a seller that didn't send....received a response and followup very timely...although they couldn't get the seller to do right.......

I've only had to contact Paypal customer service once, and they did respond. How much time have you allowed for them to respond to you? They responded to me withing 3 or 4 business days.
As for getting your account verified: My other half and I are both verified. There are 2 or 3 ways for going about it. You can use a second checking account. We have a joint account and did not want to open a second one either. So, my other half simply registered with our savings account instead -- problem solved.
Also, not many people are aware of this, but if both you and your spouse have separate eBay id's and email addresses, you can link more than one email address to the same paypal account and pay for your separate auctions from the same account. That way you don't really need to have separate paypal accounts at all.

Exactly!
I have sent additional e-mails and still get no response. Next I will make up a phony problem and try another e-mail link.

I finally received a response from PayPal--TEN days after my original e-mail, inquiring as to how I could add a credit card. They provided a completely different path (through the profile tab), and it worked OK. Needless to say, they offered an apology, but no explanation, as to why it took ten days to respond.

Chatter you might be interested to know that a paypal spoksman said that they purposly make it hard to contact them.
To be clear, I still use them as my prefered method for both buying and selling so there is no agenda here, but you should know as much as possible about how your money moves and who moves it.

I have had very good luck in dealing w/ PayPal. I just call them at Toll Free Phone: (888) 221-1161. This number is listed on their website and if you call during business hours you can talk to them immediately. Prior to getting my "real" paypal debit card, I used the virtual card and it had a limit on it. I called them to see if they could override the limit for a larger purchase. Although they would not override the limit, they were very friendly and pleasant.
I know we are all email junkies, but picking up the phone is still the fastest way to get results. Thanks.

Just curious--where on the website is the phone number located? Thanks.
