Curious to know if:
When I set a snipe, with auction-sniper does that automatically put a 'watched by' in Ebay??

When i have items for sale on ebay and i check back to see if I have any bids, i notice sometimes my bid may be ' watched by' two .. which makes me wonder if the watched by is 'cause there has been a snipe set, or is it just a legitamate ''watched by'' ... ????

comments ??

No,it is not a placed snipe because it does not go to eBay until it is placed seconds before the auction ends.

Trouble and the Grace to bear it, come in the same package.

The seller and ebay have no clue that you have a snipe set, they wont know until your snipe is placed.

Isnt it disappointing when you have a heap of watcher and not many bidders?

I have found that many *watchers* are doing so for research. Like they might have a similar item for sale and want to see what they are selling for or they are just starting to research how much an item they are wanting to buy is going for.

I agree with this from my own experience as a buyer. I watch stuff for two reasons either I'm intending to snipe or I'm interested in buying but I'm not sure of the going price. The first couple of times I watch these second kind of auctions I don't bid - I'm just trying to get a feel for the average price before I do bid . I like eBay, but I'm not going to pay more than necessary to get an item - hence the research first and then the sniping.

I never watch other people's auctions for the purpose of seeing how their item compares to the item I'm selling though. I don't see the point in that.

Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get you. Wink

Hi, I have often found the quickest way to research the going prices is to use the ebays option on the left hand colum. Once you have searched for an item and it has shown up. On the left hand colum there is an option to see "completed" select that and then at the bottom of that colum is a place to click to show it. ebay will bring up the completed auctions and you can then look at a lot of them at one time to get the feel of the prices. High, low, adverages etc.
Then you can use AS bid groups to throw all of the gizmos into and, set them at the price you want to get them at. Welcome and good luck.

One bit of advise. From my experience.

On your snipe page. go to: modify account.
then, go to the bottom of the page and unclick the "send message to seller".
then submit the corrected setting.
Reason: Some sellers are paranoid over snipers.
Anyhoo..Just my thoughts.
