Quote"PriceMiner™ is the most comprehensive pricing tool in the world" unquote. That's on their home page. It looks bollocks to me.

I have registered at www.priceminer.com after seeing their advert in Miller's International Antiques Price Guide 2006, because they seem to be sponsored or at least connected to ebay - at least their advert suggests it. They are powered by Goantiques.com.

I have paid for a one year registration, and after two days of using it to find the value of art pieces from artists on Ebay... well 90% of my searches (5 or 6 searches) came back with a 'no return' answer! The artists I searched for however are listed in Artprice.com...

Which means it is a total waste of time... and I should have registered to artprice.com instead.

So I emailed support at priceminer.com and asked for cancelation and refund (two days after I registered).

They are 'unable to refund' and that's 'because I have paid for one year', but I can 'still cancel if I want to'.

Does anyone knows them? Are they in business since a long time or is it a new venture? Are they really an Ebay affiliated or sponsored company?

In England where I live, per law a comnpany has obligation to refund an unhappy customer if he requests so wihtin a week after buying the god or service. No question asked. Isn't there such a law in the USA?

In any case I find the position of Priceminer suspicious. Most established internet business won't hesitate to give refund in such a situation to preserve their image and repute.

Any advice?

Not good news, Dom, and hindsight is a wonderful thing, but it would have been better to ask all these questions before parting with your beer tokens. Eek

A bit of healthy scepticism and a soupçon of research can save you money!

I thought that signing any contract allows you to cancel within a three-day "cooling-off" period?

Worth giving Trading Standards a call, mebbe?

I am French sorry - you don't want to know what a 'god' is in French - it is very naughty.

Yes well, they are in the US so I don't know about their Trading Standard Assoc...

I have had a reply from them syaing that theyh have forwarded my request to the boss and wait for his answer. Does it seems professional to you? Not really isn't it?

We'll see if they handle it.
