Choke a Chicken

Only $29.95 (6 for $23.70) - Australian Dollars that is.

(for those with a humour deficit - I am joking!)

Isn’t “choke the chicken” the same as:
  • slap the salami
  • whip the weasel
  • flog the frog
  • bludgeon the beefsteak
  • bop the bologna
  • wax the walrus
  • mangle the midget
  • torque the pork
  • slam the spam

Anyone care to add to the list?

I am a little concerned however, what the consquences will be when Tyler tries this action on some of Poppies prize Chooks Confused

“Anger Management” sounds like another one of those conflicting phrases. It seems to me that if one GETS angry, then they haven’t done a very good job of MANAGING it. Somewhat like “Murder Management” (aka “closing the barn door after the horses are out”). But, I can see a future for “Murder Management” as a nice substitute for “Homicide Division” (similar to renaming “The War Department” to “The Defense Department”). Here are a couple that might become fashionable – “Murderer Managers” instead of “District Attorneys” and “Murderer Agents” instead of “Defense Attorneys”.

I now know what “chooks” mean.

Honestly, I cant believe people use ebay without checking prices elsewhere first!!!

These chooks are selling for up to $56!!! on ebay plus $11 shipping.

Glad you learnt a new word today Rick, why dont you go down to the Supermarket and ask for a *Roasting Chook* and see what kind of looks you get?

When I was over there (US) last year, my Brother In Law's thought I was the best new toy ever, they would drag me around to different places and make me order stuff so they could laugh when I tried to explain what I wanted.

Apparently, me telling the check-out-chicks that I would "See ya later" as my goodbye was hilarious and weird?

Interesting chicken story

I assume "chook" = chicken. How is it pronounced? "oo" like in "book", or "oo" like in "shoot"?

"Industrial Action" is another! Should be "Dustrial Inaction", I think.

Jab - Yucky story!! I wonder why they called him Mike? and NO!! No plans for resale on ebay.

Its another of those fab things and the .com.au market is already getting flooded with them. If I wanted to have a crack at it, I would of needed to be on that boat 2 months ago.

Oh and its "Chook" as in Look Razz and they go "brock brock brock" as in "brrr - ock brrr - ock" I asked Tyler for clarification on that one Big Grin

Chook is a very 'Australasian' expression - certainly not reached UK despite many features (I suspect) on Neighbours!

Secret: Major UK Supermarkets roast chickens in-store and produce tons of fat as a by-product. At one store the drainage system couldn't cope with the heat of the fat (plastic pipes - doh!) and the fat leaked into the floor void for some time resulting in 6" of lovely fly food. Yum Yum!

No, Lexie - first time I have heard it!

I did make a junkbox electronic egg timer once that went "bock-bock-bock --- BORRRCK"
Our male chooks go "Cock-a-doodle-doo!"
French ones say "Cocorico!"

Could make for a great stocking stuffer. It might be better to Americanize it – something like “Chook on a Rope” for the shower. A waterproofed, battery powered version might be desirable (I’d be reluctant to take a power cord into the shower – but on the other hand, I’ve never tried it).

I can tell that, Rick - it tends to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience, even at 110v Eek

Here's a new toy for you:
Link to our test site for the new "Watches" tab.

You read it here first, enjoy and please provide any feedback in this thread. It's sorta in stealth mode until we release it to the general population next week.

It works well and loaded all my "watched" items correctly.

Effectively, it does what it says on the box.

However, I doubt if I will use this feature, as I tend to go to "My eBay" page for much more than just watching - all my stored searches are there so I really operate out of this page, giving feedback, adding new watching items etc.

I tend always to use the "snipe it now" feature which works effectively, rather than visit "My Snipes page". I visit "My Snipes" only if I get the warning "already bidding on this item" to check the price I put in. (getting elderly & confused!)

Not being negative Sarah - it adds to your total AS information package, but I tend to visit the AS Forums daily and "my snipes" Page fortnightly.

Its pretty nifty Sara...I like the comments and max offer sections.

Is there a reason the "Watch it now" doesnt automatically fill out the item number etc like S.I.N does?

I would make the *bid* items a different colour to the *watch* items (personally of course Razz ) as they tend to blend in together.

Other than that, its very cool Cool

Check THIS out! Take at look at the bid history. Hmmmm...have we seen this phenomenon before (same bid, same times)?? Methinks a fellow AS user may have won this one! Wink

It wasn't me, though -- I wouldn't mind having one, but not at that price level! I can buy 8 or 10 REAL chickens to choke for that amount! Eek Wink
