It is very frustrating when Auctionsniper show's only 2 bidders for $15.00 and my Bid being $200.00 and I still lost the item.2Bidders and $15.00 is shown till the last few seconds and no else is there to compete. Auctionsniper should show as bidding proceeds not lock in with 2 bidders, several days old. How do I overcome this problem. This item was extremely important, that is why I bid 14 times higher then the last bid shown by Auctionsniper. Syed661
Only an AS employee can tell you exactly what happened with that snipe as you haven't told us the item number. I guess it ended last night at ebay's busiest time so you may have specified too short a lead time and it didn't get placed in time. What error msg did AS send you?
A quick look at your snipe on item 5786652341 shows that, on that occasion, you sniped whole units (35.00) - this is not advisable either as, in the case of a tie, a sniper (ie. the last bid) will lose. Always bid a few cents/pence extra ie. 35.07
To insure that you have the current auction price appearing on the “My Snipes” page, click on [Update Prices] right above the list of snipes. To reduce response time, AS doesn’t refresh the info each time the page is loaded. AS does refresh this info as the auction comes closer to completion, but the safest option is to click on [Update Prices] when you bring up the page.
Well spotted Rick - in my rush this morning I missed the fact that mahsye had two problems - My Snipes not refreshing and an item lost for whatever reason.
Come on mahsye - let us know the item number and we might be able to help!
I have no objection to reveal the item number. Can anyone help get this to me.The Item number is 7531171646 a Hytrol Conveyor. Once I bid through AS,I should'nt worry, but this is highly dissapointing. Syed661
The item closed at 202.50 with the last bid placed on Jul-24-05 at 11:27:36 PDT, 5 seconds before the auction closed at 11:27:41 PDT. In this case, your $200.00 snipe would have lost anyway.

So don't be disappointed - you 'lost' because someone wanted the item more than you did. Thus, always snipe the most you want to spend, always snipe in odd amounts and let AS bid on your behalf. You aren't guaranteed a win but your in with a good chance.
Hope that answers all your queries - good luck next time.
