I'm noticing a trend on eBay ... and think I've missed some piece of information. Finally decided to bring it to you. For instance, look at item # 280170517629. Bidder is h***t ... all the bidders on this item are like that. So OK, I've obviously missed something. Any explanations? I notice this occasionally, but not mostly. So is it a "seller" preference to protect the identity. If so, why not just use the "Seller ID kept private" option?
On the Bid History, the next to the “Bidder” column contains this text: “To keep eBay a safe place for buyers, member-specific information is not displayed. Each bidder is assigned an anonymous name, that is used consistently throughout the bid history for an item.”
