At the risk of sounding simplistic, since AS pads the lead-time to adjust to what it “thinks” is ebay’s current response time, what improvements are gained by using 8 seconds versus 3, or even 3 versus 8 (especially Sunday nights)?

While on the subject of padding the lead-time – why not allow 1 or 2-second lead-times? Like 3-second lead-times, I would assume AS would continue to place less-than-3-second snipes based on ebay’s performance.
