The Department of Environment, Transport and the Regions has been running a hard-hitting campaign to tell drivers that cutting their speed to 30mph from 35mph halves the risk of killing pedestrians.
Yeah, and probably quadruples the risk of being rear-ended!!
Speed cameras in the UK are used to generate revenue - in most areas casualties have risen now these things are established with drivers distracted by looking at their speedos!
Only time before evolution kicks in – those drivers that obsess over their speedometers will eventually be eliminated from the driving gene pool. And, if they are soccer moms, then even better (several for the price of one).
