I'm new and in reading the community boards I'm reading some slang which I don't understand. I was wondering what a nuclear bid was. Is there a place where there are definitions for the slang used on the boards?

A nuclear bid/snipe is where you place a ridiculously high bid to ensure you win no matter what.

Like an item worth $80 tops, you bid/snipe $200 to make sure you get it.

Dangerous game if 2 nuclear bidders are after the same item

Other slang...well, I dont think there is too much.
AS = Auction Sniper and the rest is just standard net jargan I believe.

The old saying goes, be careful what you ask for, you just may get it. Never bid more than you are willing to pay for something.

It is what GWB would call a 'nucular' bid.

Aha! I did that and didn't realize it was a "nuclear" bid. The item was worth $5 and I bid $35 which was a ridiculous bid for the item, but I wanted it for a gift and got it for $5.50! So I was nuclear bidding with out knowing it.
