HI EVERYONE; I WENT TO A LISTING ON EBAY THIS AM 01/26/03 AND THE LISTING SAID "AUCTION SNIPER PROOF" MAY BE SOMEONE COULD LET ALL "AUCTION SNIPER FAMILY MEMBERS" KNOW WHAT THE STORY IS WITH THIS.I USE AUCTION SNIPER AS I HAVE TO CARE FOR BOTH OF MY PARENTS NOW AS THEY NEED MY HELP AND I DO NOT HAVE THE TIME TO CONSTANTLY CHECK PRICES AND PRIOR TO CARING FOR MY PARENTS MY GRANDMOTHER LIVED WITH US UNTIL SHE PASSED AND NEEDED CONSTANT MEDICAL ATTENTION AND CARING FOR, SO FOR ANYONE WHO THINKS THAT I MAY HAVE PULLED A FAST ONE THAT'S YOUR PROBLEM AND DEAL WITH IT AS THAT'S JUST HOW IT IS, SWITCH PLACES WITH ME AND YOU WOULD DO THE SAME. Morning tattoo, care to share an auction number?

I did a search for that phrase by checking the "search title and description" box. Nothing came up but I did search "sniper proof" and a few auctions came up. All they said in their auctions was to avoid getting sniped to place a proxy bid the max. amount they are willing to pay.

One suggestion for Larry, the original OP. Please refrain from typing in all caps. It's difficult to read and appears that you are shouting. TIA

I would think the only way for an auction to be rendered "sniper-proof" would be for the seller to always end his listings at least 15 minutes before the scheduled ending time of the auction and sell at the current high bid at that time.

I think "sniper proof" is a warning to bidders.

Great way to get proxy bidders to increase their bids. Good marketing technique.

I always have to laugh when a seller says they're going to end their auction early to avoid snipers, or that they cancel bids received in the last five minutes.

I wonder if they realize how much money they're losing? Who are they REALLY hurting?

Also the ones who cancel all bids from bidders with "less than X number of feedbacks". I guess those are the sellers who hatched into the world fully formed and started their business as a Power Seller...
