Occasionally, I'll bid on an auction where the seller says something like 'buyer pays actual cost' on shipping but they don't use the postage calculator in the auction. This means that I usually have to request a total from them. (A few are on the ball and send an invoice quickly!)

Anyway, I use AS because I work long hours and can't check on auctions very often. If I win an auction with AS, it can often be 14 hours until I can get to a computer and request the shipping and total price from a seller. It might be useful to have a feature on the site (an optional checkbox or something) that would send the seller an email requesting a total, so I could appear to be a bit less slow with my responses.

Anyway, I love the site, been using it for years! Thanks!

... and ignore it as it lets sellers know you've used AS which can annoy the touchy ones. No-one minds if you're a bit lax in responding - a good seller will send you an invoice unprompted or await your approach...

Here’s an example: http://www.auctionsniper.com/instamailsample.aspx

R2 is right, of course that AS will insert “A short promotional offer for AuctionSniper.com” in the email. R2 is also right, of course, that this can annoy sellers – but there’s not a damn thing they can do about it but moan. AND, there’s the possibility the seller will sign up for AS and you'll get some free referral snipes – it’s a tiny (microscopic) possibility. AND, R2 is right again, of course of course, 14 hours isn't all that long for a seller to wait.

I hate it when people don't list the shipping costs in their listing. Most of the time if I email them about it before the auction they never reply back in time so I hardly EVER bid on something that dosen't list shipping costs. It is inconvient!

Which may be a good indicaton as to how responsive they be AFTER the auction closes. Think its a good idea to email every seller with some/any kind of a question, two see how long, and with what, they response with.

utkgrad101, I couldn't agree more.

Been waging a private war against sellers who, after the auction is over say "Oh that's $12 for international postage on something that they put a $2 US postage on and you know full well it is going to cost them under $4 to ship!

If they state an excessive postage, I normally don't bid. However during the past two months I have had two of these battles.

One I lost - conclusively & got my first negative. The second I won and he halved his postage.

Still smarting about the first. $3 single sheet camera catalogue - US postage under $2. Wanted $12 and would not budge. In the end I sent him the $3 and told him to keep the catalogue. He refunded my money and gave me a negative. How rational was that?

I lost 6 items today because AUCTIONSNIPER CRASHED. 'Mike the Auctionsniper guy' says:
"Update! Our ISP is currently experiencing some technical difficulties..." Hey Mike -- why didn't you send out a mass emailing/Alert! to all of your customers that the service was malfunctioning - or don't you even CARE about your customers? I'm angry - what are we all supposed to do every time we have an Ebay auction ending - CHECK AUCTIONSNIPER TO SEE IF IT'S WORKING? HUH, MIKE? I work at UCLA, and we can easily email THOUSANDS, literally every student, if need be. I've worked at large companies where they email their customers if there's a sudden system failure and it's down. WHY DIDN'T AUCTIONSNIPER CARE ENOUGH TO LET US KNOW IT WASN'T WORKING? WHY DO WE HAVE TO CHECK THEIR SITE JUST TO FIND OUT IF IT'S WORKING?! I, and the rest of us, deserve better. This company has shown real lack of Professionalism and lack of concern for us (have you gotten one of those copy-and-paste emails when you complained that you lost an auction? Talk about insincerity!). As I said, we're paying money to Auctionsniper, and WE DESERVE BETTER! SEND US AN EMAIL ALERT WHEN YOUR SYSTEM GOES DOWN!!!
Geeze - doesn't ANY of you people have a brain cell firing?

This site stinks, i also lost 4 items, 3 were important for my business, taking this further, why do you think i have loged on as complainer, i have asked for a complete refund from auctionsniper team, now using another company.

WHY NOT SEND E-MAILS TO WARN US THE SYSTEM IS DOWN. OR HAVE SOMETHING ON STANDBY.

It IS strange that they close threads in the “News and Updates” section of the forum, as none of the users are authorized to post there, so locking the thread is redundant. The description is: Check here often for the latest news and updates from Auction Sniper, which I’ve always understood to mean that it was “the latest news and updates FROM Auction Sniper” versus “the latest news and updates from Auction Sniper and anyone that happens along”. If the “I WONDER WHY” implies something sinister, then I just don’t see it.

See, with a name like 'complainer' he's already set people against him. Now, if he was called 'cheerful' or 'upbeat' then we might be shouting 'come back, we miss you!'.

Appears that region2 enjoys complaining about complainer.

Something for everyone.
