How about creating a new variation of bid group that is controlled, not by the number of items that you want, but by the $ that you want to spend?

For example, let's say you collect left handed scissors. Now you want as many types of left handed scissors that you can find. But you only want to spend $100 on them in total this month.

If there was a bid group that was limited by a dollar amount, once you won that amount it would cancel the rest of your bids.

So if you want to spend $X per month, week, whatever - you'd just set up a bid group for that period of time with the $ amount you're willing to spend. That way once you spend that much, you could either up the $amount, or open another bid group for the next time period.

What's everyone think?

Is this someting that people would use?

Not a bad idea.... I'll have to think on that some more.

You wouldn't even have to be a collector. Anyone on an 'eBay Budget' could use it. Put gadgets, widgets, gizmos or anything else all in one bid group, and automatically stop when your $ limit is reached.

I like it !
