I've had some success with AS, but there are a few issues that need to be addressed imo:

1) the ongoing "Unresolved Bidgroup Item" bug -- still present as of today, Aug 15th.

2) The 19sec (or is it 20?) lead time during peak hours. I just think it would be nice to let the user have control over such important option, be it during peak time or otherwise. I just had an auction where another bidder sniped the auction at 10sec while AS bid at 19sec, thus lost the auction.

3) There seems to be a bug present where certain auctions are not shown in the 'Lost' tab although they were indeed lost. This happened on an auction where I was the highest bidder at 19secs prior (samo auction as mentioned above), but then another bidder sniped it after me. In this case, the auction did not show up under 'Lost'.

that's all, i think this is overall a good tool with exception to the small things mentioned above..

You lost because the other bidder bid more than you - it's not the last bidder that wins, it's the highest. If your snipe went in at 19 seconds then the other sniper wasn't reacting to your snipe, they must have had a snipe already set up and it was higher than yours.

I agree that AS should let you force the lead time but should warn you of the consequences if the auction ends at a busy time. However, they get no money if the snipe is too late so you can see their reasoning for the adjustment. Perhaps, as suggested by the 10 second snipe in the example above, AS were being a bit too cautious!

I agree with R2. At 10 seconds, it was more than likely another snipe bid higher than your snipe.
Odd thing is, I used to adjust my snipe time according to busy times. Now, I always leave it at 8 seconds lead. I have not lost an auction because of any lead times and I have placed and won a lot lately.

Trouble and the Grace to bear it, come in the same package.

Yes, there appears to be some problem with bid groups, but the best advice would be to avoid them until they are resolved. Non-bidgroup (other than mature auctions) snipes are firing quite nicely, or there would be a fair amount of discussion of that on this forum.
