Sniper In Training

This morning (my time in Europe) I lost about $1000.
As European users know, I can not post any snipes on Friday mornings 10-12 a.m. But does Auctionsniper work during this time? This morning I learned it the hard way: No, it does not. Just now, 6 hours after the auction ended, I got an automtated email which says, that the snipe is "ready". Haha.

Now. I herewith declare to change the sniper service, unless

1. Auctionsniper (which otherwise is an excellent service, by the way) delcares in bold letters on the log in page, that it does not work during Friday 10-12 a.M. CET.

2. Auctionsniper rejects any snipes for this time FROM THE START, SO THAT IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO FILL OUT THE CORRESPONDING FORM. This should be possible to programm in the next two weeks.

3. Auctionsnipers manages to snipe during Friday mornings CET. This should be possible to programm in the next two months.

All those dyfunctions on Friday mornings are especially serious, as auctionsniper is offering its services in German and other European languages now - suggesting, that it does work with ebay Germany (which is, by and large, Ebay Europe). Ebay.de does run without any problems during all times.

Sincerely
Ulrich Thielemann

I am just sick!

I collect dishes that are impossible to find. I placed bids on 16 auctions in Germany and I lost every single won even though my bids were higher in 14 of the 16 - some were DOUBLE the winning bid. I expect Auction Sniper to purchase every single one of these dishes for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You find them somewhere - you buy them - and you ship them to me.

You have been begging to ways to get new customers???? You had better make this right if you want to KEEP customers!!!!!

My day is ruined. I am sick about this!!

I can't remember being this upset. I trusted YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know this..when I got up at 5:30 Am EST, my Ebay page was blank except for feedback. A S cannot be responsible for Ebay glitches!

From what I can tell, E-Bay itself was kaput.
AS is not at fault when E-Bay goes down.
I know it is hard to accept a loss like this.

I am 100% sure that ebay did work at this time. There were about 20 bids for this item, many coming in in the last seconds. It is auctionsniper that failed. And I expect auctionsniper to take action.

I am just about to look around for another service.

Well, as for being "100% sure," this is what eBay said on this subject:

***Scheduled Maintenance***

The eBay system will be undergoing maintenance from about 01:00 to 03:00 PT on Friday, April 16th.

During this maintenance period, certain eBay site features may be intermittently unavailable or slow.

Regards,
eBay

You can read it yourself at http://www2.ebay.com/aw/announce.shtml

So much for being "100% certain."

Hmmm - now that the central Europeans have sounded off here, can I suggest that they:

1. realise that this is a forum and not a direct line to AS support
2. raise a support call via the Help tab

R2 (in Western Europe, but not Ireland)

We screwed up this Friday morning. The person who did the maintenance moved all 1am-3am snipes to 12:59am like usual, but then he started the maintenance immediately. That didnt give enough time for those snipes to be placed and thus some were missed. Normally we at least place all snipes in that time frame. We screwed up this week and about 100 were missed. Frown

File a support case, provide a link to this message, and the item # you were bidding on and we'll give you some free snipes.

It IS a tough thing to be so disappointed in an auction! I sympathize with those who lost out. I am sorry to hear things went poorly for you.

Sara, I appreciate your honest and open explanation.
