I'll take some free snipes for this great idea
How about a way to bid on an item only if another item is won? Sometimes, a seller will have something I really want, and then something that's ok, but I wouldn't buy if shipping weren't combined with something else. In this case, it would be great if the latter item could only be sniped pending a win on the earlier item. |

Don’t count on very, or any, free snipes. It’s a great idea, and one that’s come up somewhat frequently on the forum. They’ve been called conditional bid groups, contingency bid groups, or reverse bid groups. AS doesn’t think there’s much need for them, which is a bummer.
You might try sending AS a suggestion (your request could be the one that makes the difference): suggestions@auctionsniper.com |

Hmm - I guess AS see it as a way of not making money with conditional bidding as opposed to bid groups where they get at least one 'sale' unless they all fail...

This may seem simplistic, but if that's the stumbling block, why not charge for setting up a conditional bid group?
I and probably lots of others would pay a reasonable fee to have a facility like that when we need it. As postal charges are now a significant part of costs on low value items I ask sellers if they are putting any more camera catalogues up, so I can "bundle" postage. In fact I have three sellers currently holding items until their next auctions. Paul West Wales - Dolphin country |
