I would like to suggest a feature whereby a box is ticked so that AS can bid to the next increment.

It will solve the following:

You bid say 12.35 for an item. The price may now be 5, but when the snipe comes through the price is 12.00 and the next minimum bid is 12.50. You lose although your bid is higher because your bid is below the current minimum bid.

Adding this tick box would allow AS to go up to 12.50 and therefore a good chance of success.

Good idea BUT...

AS is a simple system - it checks nothing, it just bids as if it was you even if your snipe is less than the existing highest bid. To put in any form of checking would add an overhead and, as I suspect the majority of snipers would choose this option, it would cause all sorts of speed problems. Look at the potential for problems that bid groups causes - AS just checks to see if previous auction(s) are won/lost - with your suggestion it would need to check current situation with only a few seconds to go and react accordingly.
