Hello, I'm new in sniping but it seems very nice to me.

I'm using this wonderful site in these days, and in my opinion one of the most useful feature of the site is the Search section; to improve the usability of the search I would like to suggest some additional feature.

For example: is it possibile to add a flag to eclude from the search results items that are already snipped by the user?

It would be very useful to concentrate the search on the newcoming items only!!!

ItalyGuy,

Might not be all that beneficial because of the following:
  1. There are several services and programs that place snipes – there’s even the old-fashioned manual method. So, since AS only knows about their snipes, it would be somewhat unusual for more than one AS sniper sniping the same auction.

  2. If the flag can exclude, then anyone would be able to determine if there’s another AS sniper, or competitor, that’s going to snipe. That information might cause one, or both parties to increase their snipe amounts, which could easily cause one party to pay more for the item. The whole reason for sniping is to avoid letting ANYONE know your intentions, or that you are interested in the item.

  3. Some people (of course, no one on this forum) might just sign up for AS and run searches just to see if any AS sniper was planning to snipe. Hell, even a proxy bidder or a shill might do that.

Hi Rick

I'm sorry but I think that I've bad explained my suggestion. Let me try to repeat Smile

I was speaking of my own acutions only, in other words: let's say that I would to buy a "RED PLASTIC HORSE", ok?

Today I make my search and there are 90 items with the words "RED PLASTIC HORSE" in item title; I spend a lot of time entering in each of this auction, ooking if this is ofmy interest, and eventually making a snipe.

Tomorrow I refresh my search: it gives me perhaps 95 items.

There is a way to eliminate (or colorize in some way) the items that I am already sinping (or that I've already considered and decided not to be interesting)?

Thanks for your great work!!!!

ItalyGuy,

Your first explanation was perfect – bad reading on my part. I’M sorry.

Sounds like a good idea. You might want to email it to AS: suggestions@auctionsniper.com
