One thing I've found particularly annoying on ebay are the massive number of powersellers out there who put something up for $1.00 and then charge $12.95 shipping and handling for an item that would cost $1.29 to ship via 1st class mail. I have no problem with paying some handling charges for decent packaging, but an $11.00+ charge for handling for a tiny item that isn't fragile in any way is just silly.

So, it would be great if Auction Sniper's search feature would include a 'limit by shipping price' option.. where one could enter the maximum (and if they wanted, minimum) shipping price.. any auction with a higher shipping price than designated would be excluded in the results.

That's a great idea, but I don't know of a specific field where a fixed shipping and handling amount HAS to be entered... Most of the auctions I bid on just say "Buyer pays actual shipping" and don't specify an amount.

I WISH ebay could make sellers be more specific, but since shipping varies by location, I doubt they ever will.

Shirley, at the least, they can enter in a by zip so you can check it out. Maybe you already know this, but this can have a hidden handling charge you don't see already built-in.

I just paid $20 shipping on a $22 item and the postage was under $3. I still gave a positive as I forgot to check shipping and they said $20 for postage and handling. So I am paying for learning. but its a bitter pill.
My first error a seller said not responsible if you don't buy insurance. Well I didn't. the seller dropped the camera in a box with no packing so I got it with a cracked LCD screen.
again no recourse. Now I read the entire listing. If I can't buy insurance I don't bid.

That surely is a bitter pill! If you had said anything about the shipping they would have just come back and said it was stated!

I am giving the seller a Neg so guess I will be getting my first also. I am convinced that nobody just drops a camera in a Box with NO packing. He knew the camera was broken and did ihe no packing thing - to cover his butt. mory
