9 Days to go and you and another sniper spot a gold-plated widget. You set up a snipe of, say, £1000 'cos that's what they're worth to you. The other, somewhat richer sniper, sets up a snipe for £1001.
No-one bids...
1 Day to go, the seller, in a fit of honesty, realises that it's not gold but brass. He changes the listing description to reflect this.
Neither sniper notices and their snipes get placed.
Luckily for you the other guy wins the widget for a lot more than it is (now) worth!

My Suggestion: AS should notify snipers if the description changes between the time the snipe is set up and the end of the auction.

I think it is always wise to check that things are still the same on the day the snipe is due to fire.

I agree that it would be a nice touch - so would sending you a daily list of snipes!

I find quite often I had thought I had set a snipe up, only to find I hadn't.

The more two are removed from implementing a suggestion, the easier it is to suggest the suggestion.

At least 30 Fathoms!

Frankly, I'm with R2 - can you explain? (Not in depth though!)

Of all the bright people in England, why am I stuck with these two Brits?

I’ll have to move from the deep end of the pool and into the shallow side.

...hardly 'stuck' old chap.

And the shallow end is the best place for those that need water wings!

Most of the suggestions that are proposed, my opionion most often is, "Eh?!...not impressed." THIS suggestion is actually QUITE good and would be much more functionally useful than several current AS features such as searches and "apparent real time" countdown clock, etc.

My Watches is a useful idea, but (surprise, surprise) it doesn't work 100% - I tried it but it will only let you put the snipes into a folder called 'my watches' instead of into my bidgroups...

As you were! It's rubbish - to actually set up a snipe from the My Watches takes about three pages - KRAP!!!!

Here's what happened:

Whilst My Watches is a great idea you cannot set up snipes directly from the page even though you can put in amounts and quantities. I‘d like to be able to put in quantities and amounts and press a Set Up Snipe(s) button...

Hi,

Well, here‘s how you can add snipes on items for those in your watch list:

On "My Watches" page just click on Snipe it Now tab at the right side of the item (you wish to snipe). Then, put your "Max bid" and finally click on "Snipe It" button at the bottom.

Please remember that once your snipe has been added successfully, it would disappear from your "My Watches" page.

Please do let me know if you have any further assistance.

Regards,
-Jake T.

I see that Jake but I don‘t want to have to do it there. I want to be able to import my watched/bidded items from ebay and then (as I can already) enter a Qty and max bid (with a bid group folder if appropriate) then click on Snipe These items button - job done.

The current system is as follows:
Import Items
Check Items (having put in amount and Qty - why?)
Save in My Watches (the only choice!)
Then, for each item, click on Snipe It Now

I think my proposal would make your My Watches worthwhile - at the moment it‘s almost as useless as the AS Searches (which don‘t work!).

Can my suggestion be implemented?
