Are you going to beta it, Serenity?

What's it going to do? The beta is USA only at the moment...

Region, it is very unstable at the moment, but I think the idea is to have less expensive listings with the same sort of options such as templates, etc.

I'm looking for a few more people to beta-test. If you're an eBay seller and willing to post some auctions using our new site and give us some feedback on how it goes, I'll hook you up with 1 free auctionsniper credit for each "auction format" listing you post via our new site. (Free snipe promo is over as of 7/1/2005).

If you're interested, check out the site here:
http://www.auctiva.com

Note: For right now, the site only is able to post to the eBay USA site, sorry about that.

-Kevin

Not only 'less expensive' listings... but FREE lisitngs with image hosting, scheduling, and great looking templates. Obviously users will still need to pay all eBay listing fees... but nothing extra for using the software (unlike all of the competitors in the seller tool market).

Um...OK, sounds like a wonderful deal for sellers, but I don't see what's in it for you guys!? Confused Do the free benefits go away when beta testing is complete? If so, what are the fees then?

Don’t look gift horses in the mouth because they haven’t invented equine mouthwash yet.

A good way to reach buyers is via sellers. Thus more customers for us.

Now an "easy lister" is certainly a marketable commodity, but immediately you are in competition with those that are already well established. So you have to fight a "features" battle - mine has more than yours etc etc. This is quite a difficult task and involves lots of expenditure. Also, to many "Free"="Avoid"

I would personally direct my marketing campaign at those "beginners" at a point before they start to list. i.e. Help for those who would like to become first time sellers.

As web professionals, I am certain you could devise a whole web site devoted to "selling on ebay" - all the ins and outs - cover all the stages from absolute beginner to advanced. If it is done with great clarity and is obviously better than ebay's rather "offputting" (for a complete beginner) instructions, then personal recommendation will drive people in your direction.

Naturally, as they are already beholden to you for instructing them, they will use your products. This will improve takeup of your new product and bring the company to the notice of many more buyers.

I notice you are running an adwords campaign. There you are head to head with ********! In fact the clever one is http://www.**********.com who does it for free! Why don't you put more effort into optimising your web site to rank higher?

If you put your front page intoPooodle Predictor it points out obvious things like lack of headings, navigation driving content into third place. Use of CSS classes is virtually useless in telling a search robot what text is important!

Other strategies you should consider - registration at ICRA - this helps people read your site at work by permitting it to by-pass the filters etc etc

The site doing the tool is probably the oldest 3rd party listing company for eBay and already one of the few major players in that space. With the help of AuctionSniper users who are also sellers and the fact it will be given away for free there is a good chance it will become the largest 3rd party listing tool in a couple years.

Yes, non testers can view the site. Just message kevin.

Things are working well now. Beta quality well anyways. Mostly finishing details to be done and customer feedback on the things where we're totally blind to problems since we built it.

Free image hosting, scheduling, and templates. Come and get it. Smile

This site is really nice! What a savings! It reduced my listing cost in half!! Just about everything is working great now! Smile Actually, when I consider the free snipe for listing, seventy-five percent!
