It would be helpful if the login was disabled with a suitable message when Auction Sniper is being maintained. It might be the middle of the night in California, but it is late morning here.

Yes it would. I was just saying in another thread I'm going to spend this week begging for it from the programmers Smile

Don't beg, just have the programmers get on this forum and reply to the posts that this problem is generating. After a week or two, they may have a different perspective or see it as a higher priority. Wink

True, like Sara said, AS pays them thousands a year for this forum! Smile

I wonder if infopop bills AS for the resources this forum uses, or is it a fix price? If it's the resources, would that mean that the more activity and the more pixs the more AS has to pay?

Probably billed a fee plus extra for 'Chunks' of disk space used. Pics don't take up that much extra, as they are really just pointers to where the real pics are.

True about the disk, but the pictures do take longer to load, which would be a resource issue. I don't have the answers and it's never come up before. Thought I throw it out there.

Good point!... but I wonder if the pic data even goes through infopop. Or is that done by our local ISP's. Anyone know?

This brings up another scary thought. If I post a cute picture from site XYZ...

What happens if site XYZ replaces that pic with one I would be embarrassed or ashamed to display? Are we taking the risk of being kicked off the forum?

1st question: It can happen.

2nd question: I don't think Sara would do that. She would see that as an honest mistake.

Mrs. M uses Village Photos to avoid that. I use mostly the original URL, unless the sites requests I don't. I've never had one change on me, but I've had some go away, or their server goes down.

Your comment by ISP may be true. I don't know how it works. I hope someone answers that.

It just occured to me, that if the pic changed, the name would (probably) also change. Our post would just have a square box or it would go away. That's probably what happened to you.

I use a free personal home page provided by my ISP.
