My first post... and getting the hang of AS. (Not having much $$$, so far I've lost my first auctions... but happy to not be overspending Smile)

I generally go looking for a particular item, and find several to bid on, so I make a bid group.

My problem -- all of the AS tools dump my new snipes into the general group, rather than a bid group. This forces me to take the extra step of moving them... but more important, sometimes an auction will end quite soon, and I'm concerned about ensuring the snipe is added to the bid group.

It sure would help if the snipe wizard and snipe-it-now would let me specify (and maybe even create) a bid group!

...to the forum, Mr.Pete!

You CAN direct snipes directly to a bid group. When you are setting up a snipe -- one of the fields is "Folder". The default folder is "My Snipes" and that is where your snipe will go unless you change this field. There should be a drop-down arrow next to this field, click on it and it should display all your folders including your bid group folder(s).

I sometimes forget to change this and have to go thru the "move" process myself! Roll Eyes

I wonder a bit about this part, though -- I know you can't cancel a snipe in the last two minutes or so before the end of the auction. Can you set up a new snipe less than two minutes in advance?

As for setting up a short-fuse snipe, I tried it once, not really realizing the time limit. It looked like it was set up (AS said Ready), but it didn't go in at all. The report said Bid not placed in time or something like that. In retrospect, I should have manually sniped it. Then again, here I am living a happy life without it, so no biggie. Live and learn.
