Database Maintenance We are currently doing maintenance on our database. We typically shut down for maintenance on Thursday nights from 11pm - 1am. We selected this time due to the fact this time period contains the lowest amount of snipes of any time during the course of a week. All snipes set to go off during our required maintenance period are placed just before we go offline in order to give you the best chance of still winning the item.
When this comes up why not mention that this forum and help are still available? Gives a new visitor something to look at when they cannot access the rest of the site...
How did I miss that - I'm looking at that message on http://uk.auctionsniper.com/default.aspx (note the uk) at 8am on Friday in the UK so why am I getting a message saying it's down for maint 8 hours ago?
Come on AS - you do have customers in other countries - please tailor these messages to suit their time zones!
Not sure we can do the time zone thing but I'm sure they'll do it if they can. Not everyone enters their timezone correctly when signing up which would cause a whole other set of troubles.
