So my bid was placed 19 seconds ahead of time even though my AS lead time was set at 7 seconds. I was outbid by someone else who obviously had time to react.
I think manual sniping is waaay better than this auctionsniping tool

If you read the forums and the FAQs you'll better understand how AS works and not jump to conclusions!
You'll also realise that bidding odd amounts helps you win in a tie, the person who came second (in the auction above) might have won if he'd added a penny or two to his bid and placed it as a snipe without nibbling!
Good luck with the manual sniping - use two alarm clocks to make sure you wake up in time for that item that finishes overnight!
