I am new to auction sniper. I trid as on two items, but both times I lost by exactly by one dollor to the same buyer. It is as if this bidder knew my max bid and somehow automatically added one dollar to whatever my max bid was. My lead time was 7 sec, but the winning bidder was like 3 or 4 sec with exactly one dollar higher. Should I shorten my lead time or is someone using better auction sniper system or software.

Today’s homework – read up on ebay’s proxy bidding and bid increments.

The buyer you lost to may have bid MUCH more than the dollar you lost by. The way proxy bidding is set up is that his bids go up by imcrements of $1 from what your highest bid is. If you have the highest bid on the item, you will win. If your maximum snipe is EQUAL to what his maximum is, he will win the auction because the earlier bid takes precedence over yours.

I decide the maximum I'm willing to pay & then add anywhere from $1.33 to $1.87 to it.

You won't win every auction using a sniper system. What it does, it keep the maximum you're willing to pay a secret until the closing minutes of the auction and keeps the bids lower.

thanks for prompt replies. It's good to know why I lost the bids.
