Sniper In Training
Posted
Hi, I am new to this but would like to try AS on an auction that ends tomorrow, Feb 22, at 14:09:15 PST. How many seconds lead should I use? Does it depend on the date of the week, the time of the auction close, etc. as to how many seconds interval you might go with? I would appreciate the advice more experienced at this than me -- I don't want to lose if I can help it! Lost a gorgeous piece the other day in the final TWO seconds as I frantically hit "refresh/reload" on my s-l-o-w dial-up.

Thanks in advance for your help!

My personal choice is 8 seconds during normal time, I add 10 to 15 seconds on busy Ebay traffic times such as Sunday between 5 and 8:30 PST PM and on the hour, half, and quarter. Another very important thing to remember is to set your snipe at the max you want to pay. That way, if someone overbids you, you know they bid too much!
