I lost an auction because of an Ebay requirement for credit card verification on bids more than $15K. No mention of it when I submitted my bid through your service. BIG DISAPPOINTMENT.....
Hiya Disappointed, Sorry that you missed out on the Auction, I havent ever had to bid on anything worth that much - but is it common knowledge that you need this verification? I doubt that AS would check such a thing.
Its probably a nice idea for AS to have a little pop up that warns you of this verfication when you enter a snipe for such a large amount...maybe you should submit it via the *request a new feature* link on "My Snipes" page?
I do not recall blaming AS for the loss. I just mentioned that I was disappointed and I used the service.
My point was that the service could be much better if a pop up or the sort warned of the impending problem.
I have always sniped on my own, but decided since this was a large purchase to use your site to "make sure". I was totally unaware of this requirement, otherwise I would have not made the mistake in the first place. It would have been nice if I had some backup, just to make sure.....
quote: Well I suppose not, and 15K bids don't happen that often... but I don't really *want* AS going into my personal information.
No need for it to go into your personal information.
Just a Pop Up Warning ...."Have you completed the Credit Card Verification for a snipe of this amount" Please refer to .....
quote:It would also be easy to double check to see if I changed my password at eBay each time I enter a snipe, but I don't expect them to do that either.
Little bit different scenario, unless you are placing $15K bids everyday. I *wish* I had that much spare money to place those bids everyday.
Ahh C'mon Dissappointed... I didnt bag ya out...plz dont use the on me
I will say that the item I was bidding on generated so much interest, that I was unable to access the bid page on Ebay for the last 15 minutes of the auction. I was also logged into the auctionsnipe site and was able to see the whole bid process transpire as fast as I could hit the refresh key. How do you do that?? You would think that 2Mbps of bandwidth would be enough.
The thing that got my goat was the camper sold for less the 15K. Stinks to be me....
Ah Well Disappointed, lesson learnt the hard way I guess. At least it got ya into the Forum . I think you should submit that request, then someone else might not have the same misfortune.

Would it be unethical if did not submit and used it as an advantage (since I know better now)?
...Puppy, is that Lexie is SUPPOSED to be doing end-of-month stuff, but she hates it so she's taking LOTS of breaks from it by popping in the forum! Am I right, Lexie?
