Outbid e-mail notices may not reach you in time. The best bet is to set AS once, bidding at your maximum amount, which is part of the point of sniping. Otherwise, it is just a different kind of nibbling. Wink

If one never allowed themselves to be influence by other people, or in this case, other bidders, then that approach might have some merit. But, in the real world with real humans, the value of something is usually influenced by others. So, I doubt there are more than a handful of Martians that would be able to embrace that suggestion.

Additionally, Chatter, don’t you think that bidding on low priced items, as you do, allows one more opportunity to not change their bid? After all, you could easily be the only bidder.

Another thought: someone that increases their maximum amount based on the activity of other bidders could be considered “open-minded”.

Sniping is about winning the item for the lowest price, not about trying to get a deal on an item. There is a difference.
