I won an auction on the 17th. I paid through PayPal on the 20th. The payment status is "pending." I just checked the details of this transaction and PayPal is saying that the seller is a non-registered user. I have emailed the seller and used the "Ask Seller A Question" form to ask her what her PayPal address is. According to her auction she accepts PayPal and I was able to use the "Pay Now" link.

How long should I wait before I cancel the payment?

Should I continue to email her? She's no longer selling anything.

Her auction states that if she has not received payment in 10 days, she leaves negative feedback. It has been 6 days since I paid.

Ideas on what to do?

Don't think it would be 'improper' to share an eBay ID in this case, or an auction #?

Crafty, go to the auction site where you won and see what it says now. Also, see what it says under her seller's other auctions and ID history. It is possible that she has been removed from Ebay by Ebay. In which case you don't want to pay her.

Here's the item number - 3273531922. Maube you can see something that I'm missing.

From what I can tell she is still registered at eBay but isn't registered at PayPal.

I looked and it does not say she is no longer an Ebay member! Are you certain you have spelled and entered her paypal correctly? Copy and paste it to her where it says she is not registered at paypal and ask for instruction! Keep a copy of all correspondence you send her.

When I click the "View Payment Status" I can get directly into my PayPal account and about 3/4 of the way down where it lists her name - which happens to be the same as her first eBay ID - it says that she is an unregistered user.

I used the "Pay Now" link and it took me directly to PayPal with the page that lists what what I'm buying and who I'm buying it from.

Her first? before she changed it to the new one? Well, that is not an Ebay registered user name, of course. Are you paying with a credit card or bank transfer?

Bank transfer. Since I am "unconfirmed" and she is "unregistered" PayPal is giving me the option to cancel the payment and that's the only I can cancel a "pending" payment.

Ok, pending could mean that the transfer is not complete. It takes sometimes 4 business days or more. They do notify her that it is pending. I would say, wait and see. A little confusing! Just keep copies of everything.
