Auction was at $461 with Reserve not met. I posted a snipe with a 3 second lead time. My max bid was $1002.50. Auction ended at $810 with reserve still not met. Why did it not bid my total $1002.50, which MAY or may not have made the reserve? Guess I should not have used this service the first time on an auction I have been salivating over for four days, but I just found out about Snipe a couple hours ago on another auction site I was watching. Am hesitant to try again, as I win a very high percentage of auctions I bid on, but thought this would be great for the ones I miss when at work....Please tell me what I did wrong. Thanks!

Hello,

I took a look at the snipe in question and Auction Sniper did its job. If you look at the Bid History, you will see that you are #1 with a high bid of: $810.00. Your maximum bid was $1002.50. The previous high bidder's max was $800.00. Since eBay uses a Proxy Bidding system, the price of the item was only raised to $810.00, rather than your maximum bid of $1002.50.

Auction Sniper bids much like you would normally. eBay makes no special exceptions or rules for our system. If you are willing to pay the reserve for this item, we suggest that you contact the seller. They may be more than happy to sell it to you rather than having to relist.

Thanks,
Adam R.

Adam, Thanks for your reply! I thought Snipe would bid high enough to make the reserve, if my bid was high enough. (Turns out it wasn't anyway!) I specifically looked for the answer to that question and something I read on one of these posts made me think I was covered. I misunderstood. I AM working with the seller and I WILL try Snipe again again.
