Hello there!

I haven't registered with AS yet as I was wondering how does AS deal with time differences?

I'm in the UK on GMT - will AS recognise this difference when I'm putting in my snipe?

Cheers!

Helen

When entering a snipe, you don't tell AS what time to snipe, you tell AS how many seconds before end of auction... Time zones should not matter.

... and I know you will want to use the flag, but from what I gather, you will have FAR fewer problems if you use the flag for the time being on your 'My Snipes' page.

WELCOME to the forum!

Hi Helen

Don't worry about time differences or currencies when using AS.

Set the snipe in the amount you want to bid. If the Auction is in pounds then AS will snipe in pounds, ditto in Yen, Euros or Dollars.

Again, time differences are ignored as AS snipes seconds from the end. It does the hard work for you.

And yes, steer clear of the Union Jack - AS appears to have a habit of releasing upgrades before they're tested/ready and I've been getting errors recently whilst they've been updating the site. Rest assured, the sniping bit works fine - it's just the displays that are going Pete Tong! (that's "wrong" for those that don't drink Tea or watch Coronation Street!) Wink

Hmm...
I'm bidding on a article that ends tomorrow morning. however altough AS shows the right date and time, it also shows that the auction ends in 1 day 9 hours instead of 1 day 1 hour. a difference of 8 HOURS. dose this mean that AS will bid 8 hours too late??

the time AS shows is something to do with your PC time and is nothing to do with the time on the servers etc that place your bid(s). So what happened?

So this will automatically work in different time zones?
