I signed up on AS to purchase an item I really wanted and was all set. I viewed the countdown and watched as AS did....nothing! I was shocked. After the auction ended I looked at my status and it showed in red "Banned By Seller", which is not in the AS list of status variations. Is this the same as being "Blocked By Seller"? I looked through the various discussion threads to see why I would possibly be banned but I am at a loss. I did not do anything to upset the seller, nor am I in a country they would not ship to. Any ideas why this would happen? I really would like to use AS but I am now afraid of losing further auctions. I am pretty sure I would have won if my AS bid would have went through.
if I had to guess, it could be too that someone is using Ebay to sell to a single specific individual and is simply banning everyone else from the auction.

Is that wishful thinking or does eBay actually allow a seller that option?
I lost 5 auctions over the past week and got this message. I would have won all of these had I not been "blocked by the seller". I am wondering why this is happening. It is rather frustrating. Maybe I should try another bidding site.

I'm guessing it's an ebay message so changing Sniping Sware might not help. What did the screenshot of the results from ebay (see the link on AS's email after the auction) show?
AS support got back to me on this. Apparently I was blocked as the message says my paypal account is not linked to my ebay account, which is strange as I thought they were linked (I always click Pay Now and it takes me to paypal). Anyway, they had an option on the same screen for "If you already have paypal, click here" and then once I entered my paypal information, I got the message that the two accounts were linked and that it may take a few minutes.
I'll wait for another week or so and post back here if I get the same message on any of my lost auctions.
