if i have placed a bid on an item at its starting price at say $100 and there is 3 days to go, what would happen if i also place an AS on the same bid with a max of 300 if no1 else has bidded on it?

So in effect, on ebay my max bid is $100, but 10 seconds before the end of auction AS snipes with a max bid of $300. Will it just change my max bid from 100 to 300 and still keep the price at 100?

I have place a big over one of my own bids before thinking it will just change the max bid but it actually change the price. i think it was due to the incriment though i dont know.

does any know the answer to my question?

Yes. Only exception would be on a reserve auction and the 100 hadn’t reached the reserve but the 300 did. The results of using AS will be the same as you placing a bid of 300.
