Basically, I have set my lead time for 5 seconds which I consider a good amount of time.

The item I'm bidding on ends tommorow and Ive set my max bid too 500 as that is all I am willing to pay.

I was just wondering,if someone else bids say 1 minute before the end at about $300 will AS still bid down 500, or will it just make a higher bid than the person before me ?

In simple terms it bids the max amount you specify as if it was you. Ebay's proxy bidding takes over after that.

Oh, and don't bid whole amounts as you'll lose in a tie to an earlier bidder (ie. change your snipe to 500.01).

8 secs is the recommended lead time here, AS will adjust it anyway. And remember, it's not the last bid that wins, it's the highest!
