since auction sniper cannot tell if i am the current high bidder, i shouldn't use manual maximum bid on ebay and auction sniper together??

for example, im currently high bidder with $50, but put a maximum bid of $80. if i also use auction sniper for 'just in case' at $90, would i be bidding against myself?

AS bids as if it was you so you might be - I think there are circumstances where the max may rise by an increment (eg. reserve not met) but cannot think of any at this time.

You may need to manually bid to 'remove' a BIN (see other threads) so this is not unheard of.

Yesterday I had to manually bid (and won 5 out of 7 items this way) as my snipes were just too low to beat another bidder (with less than 5 mins to go) - in the end I won each and every one by 1p as the other bidder had set his max to £4.00 on all the items - I manually bid at £4.01 and voila! 5 more widgets for the mantle! I bet the other guy was fuming!
