Today a snipe went unplaced, clicking on auction sniper's EYE icon (to see the ebay page that was the response to the attempted snipe)shows that the bid wasn't placed because ebay detected that auction sniper signed in from a computer that wasn't my home computer: "It looks like you signed in from a different computer. Before you continue, we need to verify your identity and confirm it's really you. Choose how you'd like to receive your confirmation code, BY PHONE or BY EMAIL."

Similarly, several snipes went unplaced last week when the ebay required a CAPTCHA before placing the snipe "To keep eBay a safe place to buy and sell, we will occasionally ask you to enter a verification code. This helps us to block unauthorized users from entering our site. Please enter the verification code in the image below and click on the "Continue" button to enter our site."

Wondering if anyone else has seen this?

I've read in the forum that auction sniper is attempting to address the CAPTCHA issue, but what about the new requirement of a confirmation email sent to my home computer before accepting a sniped bid?

Hello FP,

We have seen some reports similar to what you describe where the confirmation page of a snipe record shows the eBay page you refer to. Our engineers are continuing to make adjustments on our end to reduce the chances of such pages occurring when snipes are being set as they are with the captcha responses. Please note that eBay can present either of these pages at any time for any account.

Hello yarno,

We are unable to say if eBay will request confirmation for your account again at any time in the near future as eBay can present a confirmation page for any account at any time. Unfortunately, Auction Sniper is unable to work around such a page, so when they occur, Auction Sniper is unable to access your eBay account to place the bid.

If your account is not currently verifying when you check on the Modify Account page, please try logging in to eBay directly to ensure that no confirmations appear for you. If they do, please complete them. Once complete, it may take a day or two for our system to cease encountering such a request for your account.

If you continue to encounter difficulty, please file a support case from under the Help tab of the site so we can look into the specifics for your account.

- Craig
