The Auctionsnipe system thinks my target auction closes more than 24 hours from now. If it REALLY thinks that, it will place my bid 24 hours TOO LATE.

I'm going to manual too. ARGGGH!

Is that on your *My Snipes* page?

Is that after you clicked *Update prices*?

Item #?

The time displayed on that page has nothing to do with when or if we snipe, it's there as an aid for you.

So you dont have to worry about us not sniping, we'll snipe.

I am seeing a similar problem. Now with 1 hour to go the time shows "ENDED". 20 minutes ago it was showing negative days, hours and minutes.

It still seems to snipe at the correct time. My bid was low but I did receive the email saying so. Current Item: 3901156944, ends 7:15pm today but displays "ENDED".

AS seems to have added a new feature 'My Snipes --> Modify Account --> Display Timezone'. Perhaps this is the problem?

It could be, but with my auctions the time zone selected is PST and the auction also ends at PST. So unless AS is bugged because of the timezone thing, I don't see how it could affected it.

Is the time off by just hours, or minutes and seconds too? If hours, I'd bet it's the timezone change Wink

Ok, I tried. I went to my own timezone (CET) and see what it would do. It still says the auction has ended. I guess I will have to stay up even longer and snipe by hand.. sigh. So the timezone thingie is not the solution.

Make sure your clocks are set correctly on your computer, including the day, month, and year.

I've confirmed that setting your clock on your computer correctly fixes this.

We're going to try and make it so that countdown uses our timer so that it's always right.

It's impossible for us to ensure a customers clock will be right. It's easy to accidently set the clock to the wrong day, month, or year. So even though the time on the clock looks right the day/month/year/timezone, etc could still be wrong and screw up our countdown.

My clock is set to correct Hour/Day/Month/Year, central standard time and, w/o checking in Greenwhich, approximately the correct minutes/seconds. My auctions, however, are still coming up with unmatched-to-reality end times.

Is the "setting" supposed to be E-bay time (PST), for best results, or our own time zone?

Thanks,
A.

Yes, set your time zone to central on our site, I did that for you.

The word ended is still coming up incorrectly though I tested it here.

I'll send it to the programmers to investigate.

Please remain calm, snipes are placed properly as I've already said.

The time left that is being displayed on the My Snipes page has a bug in it. This is only a display error and has nothing to do with the actual time your snipe will be placed.

One of the web programmers is currently fixing the problem and it should be fixed in a few minutes.

Sorry about the confusion!!

Hi,

I am in the UK & having problems with the time, I just tried to add a snipe with two hours to go but A.S. says bidding has ended for this item, my PC clock is correct checked against GMT but all my snipe are out by 8 hours (ahead) so A.S. will be bidding 8hours to early, time zone in A.S. set for GMT.

Any help most welcome.

Cheers

My snipe ending in forty minutes says it already ended, though the time of aucton end appears accurately on the tab. The clock and calendar on my computer are correct, and the "ENDED" notation is happens from multiple locations.

I will take Sara's word for it that this will not impact the snipes.
