I understand that you can not change a snipe during the last 3 minutes preceding when the snipe should be placed.

If I place snipes in Bidgroup because I want to make sure I only get 1 item ... and one or more of the auctions end within 3 minutes of each other, am I in danger of getting more than one of the items I bid on.

No you are not.

AS will only bid on the second auction after it has confirmed a loss on the first. If the auctions are very close together (like 10-15 seconds) the worst that will happen is you will lose the first for 'bid to low', and not bid on the second because AS could not confirm the loss in time to bid.

The reason for the 3 minutes is bids are sent off to the bidding servers about that time. That's why they can not be changed or canceled by you. AS, however DOES hold a bid on a second item till confirming a loss on the first.
