I've just read a note on one of the eBay auctions saying that some external sniper services are not being accepted by eBay due to technical problems. Any bids placed are being made void.

Does anyone have experience of this? And does it apply to Auction Sniper?

I have a couple of snipes set up and am concerned that any successful bid might be cancelled by eBay.

Thanks

Carol

Hi Rick,

The auction item I saw it on is:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&it...=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=006

(ebay.co.uk item number: 160192645563)

This is not an item I was sniping - I just wanted to know if the Special Note the vendor included applies to AuctionSniper.

Thanks

P.S. are you suggesting I should ask AuctionSniper support about this as well by logging a support query?

Filing a support request using that link would be best. It will be quicker, as support tends not to monitor the forum even though this section is titled “Auction Sniper Support”, and their response will most likely be more accurate then something from a user.

>>Please check out your snipe company with eBay prior to placing your bid because many have been withdrawn and caused the entire listing to be void after the auction has closed.<<

I wonder what "caused the entire listing to be void" means.

Obviously it's scare tactics - AS logs on and bids as if it was you so how can that be any different from a manual bid? Why would eBay withdraw a valid bid or close a listing as a result of a snipe. Some people...

Thanks for everyone's input. I'll see how things go with this evening's snipe - it's not an important one - and then send through to support and report back here just to let you all know the outcome.

Happy New Year everyone.. Smile

We placed 99.9% on time in December. So about 1 in 1,000 were late. That includes those customers that enter 1 second snipes at eBay's peak times. If you only took those that did 7 or 8 second snipes we were probably closer to 1 in 10,000.

I thought that AS no longer permitted snipes of less than three seconds to be entered.
