I recently won a snipe on eBay (thanks AS!)
But I just received a disturbing email from the seller. The message was simply a confirmation that the item will ship soon, but what disturbed me was the subject that said: Re: Auction Sniper Winning Bidder Info (eBay Item #............) This means that AS actually sent an email to the seller and shows that we used a sniping service, and this seller was replying back ("Re:"). I'm not ashamed of using AS but I know that some sellers don't like their auctions to be sniped at. Can anybody confirm if this is true? I personally think that how we win the auction is our business and don't like the idea that AS exposes our methods. BTW, I haven't emailed the seller at all, so it's not possible that the seller was replying to a message I sent (or forwarded). |

Hi Hunter,
If you go to "My Snipes", then "Modify Account" then scroll down to "Insta-mail" you can turn this pesty feature off. Its what most of us do. Congrats on your win though. Lexie |

Sadly it defaults to Yes when you sign-up to AS which can be a pain 'cos some sellers are anti-sniping. AS have been asked to remove it or to set the default to no but to no avail...
