Subject says it all. I lost a snipe tonight because somehow my password disappeared from AS and it couldn't sign me in to eBay. Any idea how this might have happened, and how I can prevent it from happening again?

If you have not changed your password and/or ID at eBay there is one other possibility.

If someone tries to hack into your account at eBay, they add an additional layer of security that AS can't handle. After you enter ID and password at eBay, you are asked an additional security question. It may be hard to tell if this is what happened, because (as I understand it) this is reset every night. Try signing into eBay and see if that works OK.

Come back to AS.
Click My Snipes --> Modify Account --> Enter and verify password.

If ID and password does not match AS will tell you, If it does match you will be taken to My Snipes and you should be good to go.

...in this phenomenon may lie a diabolical way to compete with a sniper?!?

...I used the "Label Printout" ebay/Paypal feature that also allows an e-mail note to be sent to "shipee". I take it you haven't yet received the e-mail. Could you let me know when you do? I was under the impression it was sent immediately, but apparently it isn't. It would tell you shipment happened Monday.

We dont lose passwords. People change usernames, or their passwords. But we dont lose them.

I signed in to eBay within an hour of the end of the auction and eBay did not ask for any additional information. I've changed neither my username or my password for quite some time. Any idea what might have happened? I'm not so much interested in assigning blame as I am in making sure that it doesn't happen again.

Overall, I'm very happy with Auction Sniper.

This is the first glitch I've experienced, but it cost me a much needed item for a motorcycle I'm restoring.
