I have an upcoming snipe waiting and first could not login, now the website is down. Does this mean the snipe will fail? The auction ends in just under 11hrs.

Sorry the connection had ben down for 35mins or so, this is when i noticed the same had happened with ebay.co.uk/ebay.com. Auctionsniper.com must refuse connections to snipes when eBay is updating their websites as links may then be inaccurate or out-of-sync.

AS also does maintenance during this time and take their system off line. If your auction falls in this time (1-3 AM Friday morning eBay.com time) your snipes are placed just before AS goes down.

WELCOME to the forum.

The Auction Sniper website becomes unaccessible when they are doing maintenance.

However, unlike eBay, AS don't think it necessary to put up a warning message so that people know what is happening - they just don't let you in - no message, no warning, nothing!

A number of people have asked for this situation to be resolved (not hard to do?!) but I guess that, as it happens when the USA is 'asleep', they don't care if one or two foreigners are inconvenienced!

The reason for the early snipe is that they send out snipes early prior to this maintenance.

Occasionally AS sucks. This is one of those occasions... Roll Eyes

Seems like such a simple suggestion to implement.

I wonder what percentage of AS users are non-American? Based on this forum, it appears that a third, or perhaps even half, are non-American.

You'd have thought so but I've been asking for it for ages (1 year +) - I guess they're too busy 'elsewhere'... Frown Roll Eyes

Here's what you get when you visit PayPal during their 'down' time:

The PayPal website is temporarily unavailable due to maintenance.
It will be available again at approximately 10:00 AM BST.
We apologise for any inconvenience.

When I sent this thread to suggestions@auctionsniper.com their ever-helpful response was 'move to America'... Frown
