Due to site maintenance it was placed hours early and even though the site is back up and rounding with 7 hours before the end.

I will now most likely loss the item or end up paying a lot more for it. I can't retract the bid as the auction ends within 7 hours.

Thank you auction sniper you've really messed this one up for me. This auction is really important as its for my girlfriends birthday. You should have said something warning me days before this happened.

Folks, we're only paying 1% of the final value of our successful snipes. You get what you pay for, which means that a couple of times a year Auction Sniper will do something jaw-droppingly incompetent like this. The amazing thing is that the bugs and the screwups are completely random. You never know what they're going to do next!

My snipe (set for 7 seconds) just went off 9 hours, 55 minutes, and 1 second too early. Nope, it wasn't a time scheduled for regular site maintenance-- the auction is set to end in broad daylight on Friday morning.

Pretty sure I'll lose this one. So it goes.

Hello. I'm a relative newcomer and this has just happened to 3 of my snipes too (all now pushed up over my max price). I've cancelled all my other snipes in fear of an advance bidding frenzy - any advice on whether safe to start sniping again?

well this totally f***ed me up now. The item was at £48, then auction sniper enter my bid of 107 now someone has outbid me at 109. I really needed this work and auction sniper single handedly screwed it up.

Same here, Auction Sniper has shown my hand 7 hours too early. This comes only a few months after Auction Sniper managed to lose all our swipes. I had to laugh at Mr Natural's post - by the same logic, a can of Coke costs only 50 cents so we should expect to find one containing a shard of glass or a dose of anthrax from time to time. Alternatively, Coke might just go out of business, which is the fate that ultimately awaits all incompetent companies.

Went in 8 hours early for me - I'm still winning but if I'd wanted to show my hand so early, I would have bid manually.

And, if I do win, AS will no doubt still charge. I guess the rule is don't put any snipes in for the time when AS does its maintenance, which in Europe seems to be early Friday morning.

Hi Community,

Thanks for letting us know about this. We have received similar reports from several other customers and it appears an error was made with respect to maintenance last night that caused a number of snipes to be placed before our maintenance period started that should not have been placed until after maintenance.

This problem has been reported to our engineering team and we are going to make every effort to ensure this does not happen again.

If you had snipes placed early due to this issue, please contact our customer support team and we will provide you with free snipe credits for each snipe that was placed early, as well as refund any snipe fees you were charged for items you may have won as a result of snipes that were placed early.

We sincerely apologize for any inconveniences this issue may have caused. Our customer support team can be reached using the web form on the following page of our site: http://support.auctionsniper.com/
