Got an "Unknown" for a snipe status a couple of days ago - it *looks* like the snipe was placed but how can you tell? Lost the item because of it too..... Do you get any credit for problems like that?

I am sorry to hear you lost. However, the risk of losing like you did is always there, whether you use AS or not.

You might want to have a look at the status list in the Help Section.

Sometimes certain Ebay Sections are down (I've seen them down for the full daytime, back up at night). If you have a snipe armed for that time, noone can really say if your snipe will be placed or not. Ebay usually extends all auctions ending during the downtime by the timespan that was lost due to the downtime. Let's say the server was down for four hours, than an auction ending at noon now ends at 4PM. I am not sure how AS handles this new ending time. If you should be aware of such a down time, I would cancel my snipe, and reenter it.

Any down times can be found here: http://www2.ebay.com/aw/announce.shtml.

BTW: I've seen sellers cancel EVERY item that was affected by the down time. That really messes you up if you try to save on combined shipping.

There is a link here on AS that will determine if you are entitled to sniping credits:

You might want to bookmark it. Good luck next time.

Whether or not the snipe was placed, doesn't AS only charge you if you win? So what would a credit be for?
