Put $15 in my account via PayPal, but doesn't seem to register, and can't make snipes. Have received receipt from PayPay. Any advice?

Paypal is not instant because someone needs to be at the A S end to accept it. That doesn't always happen on the weekends. The best way is to register a credit card, I think. Have you already used your free snipes?

Trouble and the Grace to bear it, come in the same package.

Well, I thought my free snipes had ended some time ago, but got the reminder today. Surely I must have give my credit card details when I signed up? That seems to have vanished from my account.

Does this mean that my current live snipes are not going to work? Panic sets in.

And surely I haven't been getting free snipes since May?

All bids are sent. If you were able to enter them, they will be sent.

Don't know if you did, but you CAN sign up without giving a credit card number or balance. You don't need that till after your freebees are used up. Also, AS doesn't bill every month. It depends on your balance. If it's to low, it can be carried over up to 3 months.

Mrs.M is right about PayPal and the weekend. If you're still worried, you can file a support case from the help page. (very bottom)

I think's it's time for support. Looks like I set up my account to accept PayPal, and previous payment has been deducted. So the 'end of free snipes' messages looks spurious. Somehow I thought that when my account needed topping up then it would be done automatically from PayPal, but not the case.
Thanks for your help.

When I checked last night around 11pm your payment had been credited, since it's automated that means it was done instantly right when you sent it from paypal. +/- a minute or so that paypal sometimes takes to inform us that you've paid.

Sign out, sign back in. We have instructions you're supposed to follow after making a paypal payment that come right up on our site. Read them. Print them. Save them for next time. The only thing filing a support case might do is get you those same instructions.

Goddess - this doesn't mean anything to me, unfortunately.

How do I find these instructions?
Thanks.

They come on on your screen after making a paypal payment.

In short they tell you to sign out and sign back in, if you have problems. If that doesnt work reboot your computer.

I always replenish it myself--I had not heard that a set amount could automatically be deducted when the balance gets low. That would be nice. Smile

No place to enter ID and password for PayPal so they can't. If you trust AS to automatically bill and not have to bother with checking your balance all the time, you need to use a credit card.

Chatter, I'm sure you knew that, but perhaps others didn't. Wink Of course using a credit card, I'll forget to update the info and let it expire.

That is what I always understood, though I don't consider it a bother to check my balance occasionally. I put $20 at a time, which even with my frequent sniping, lasts me quite a while. So I don't check the balance too often. I prefer this to the cc charges.

Michael, from AS technical support, summed things up succintly:

1) No auto top-ups with PayPal
2) That message about 'no more free snipes' is 'generic'. i.e. it is incorrect and not applicable, but it shows up anyway. Hence, taking it literally, I was confused - am I the only one?

So, it wouldn't seem rocket science to have this message changed perhaps....?

Uh Oh - the proverbial can of worms!

Nope - I am confused for you Boswell.

Everytime I see your name I think of Drew Barrymore saying "Bosley". I dont know what that is. Confused (I know, I am a weird Australian).
